Required fields block PDF export until complete. Have the procedure reviewed and qualified per your applicable code before production use.

Template vs Qualified WPS

A Welding Procedure Specification tells the welder how to make a weld that has already been qualified. This tool formats the parameters you enter into a clean PDF layout — it does not run qualification tests, tag essential variables per ASME IX tables, or certify compliance. Treat the export as a starting draft for shop documentation, then have a qualified individual review it against your PQR and applicable code (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, etc.).

Save / Load Workflow

Complex WPS drafts span multiple sessions. Use Save (.json) to download a portable draft file keyed to _type: testtalkhq-wps. Reload it with Load (.json) — the form, multi-select chips, pass table, and joint diagram restore from the file. JSON is client-side only; nothing uploads to a server.
