Accessibility

TestTalkHQ aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA so calculators, charts, and guides stay usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, and readable contrast. That is a working target, not a certification or a guarantee that every page is perfect.

What we recently fixed

  • Article and standard page titles are real headings (h1), including restoring missing titles on most guides.
  • The “Skip to content” link now moves keyboard focus into the main content.
  • Header, footer, and related controls show a visible focus ring instead of dropping the outline.
  • The footer email signup has a visible label. The “Get it free” button uses dark text (#111) on the site orange (#e8611a) so the contrast meets AA, matching the header search button.
  • Calculator result areas announce updates to assistive tech where the widget has a results panel. Origin-check text in the widget is hidden from screen readers.
  • A leaked “Test Talk” heading and pasted document leftover on the MIG settings chart (and similar paste accidents) are stripped from the article body.

Known limits

Some older print cheat-sheet PDFs are not tagged. Calculator widgets are injected after a first visit (the empty #calc-root shell is intentional). If a control in a specific calculator is still unnamed or hard to reach, that is a bug we want to hear about — not something you should have to work around.

How to report a problem
