Rust911 Review: The Easiest No-Fume Rust Remover I’ve Ever Used
Welcome back to Test Talk, where we usually dive into electronics — but today, we’re getting dirty with something every shop needs: Rust911, a no-fume rust remover that’s made my life a whole lot easier.
I work full-time at a coachbuilding shop, and we’re constantly restoring rusted-out tools, car parts, and even entire chassis. I’ve tried everything from muriatic acid to molasses, and nothing compares to this stuff — especially when you value your lungs and shop air.

What Makes Rust911 Different?
- 🧪 Zero smell — no rotten egg funk, no acidic fumes
- 🪣 1 quart makes 5 gallons of powerful solution
- 🧰 Works on tools, car parts, dollies, you name it
- 🌍 Non-toxic, acid-free, and safe on skin
- 💵 Reusable — use it 3–4 times per batch
Our Real-World Test
We picked up a box of rusty auto body dollies and decided to document the entire process. Here’s what we did:
- Mixed 1 quart of Rust911 concentrate into a 5-gallon bucket of water
- Dunked the tools in and left them overnight (24 hours)
- Removed, rinsed, and scrubbed them lightly with Scotch Brite
The results? Surface rust vanished. Heavier rust turned black but wiped off easily. And some pieces? Looked brand new.

Heavy-Duty Use Case: 1956 Cadillac Chassis
At our shop, we went big — like chassis big. We found a ’56 Cadillac with serious underbody rust. So we:
- Made a kiddie pool of Rust911
- Used sump pumps and spray nozzles to circulate solution under the car
- Let it run for 3 days straight
- Scrubbed with Scotch Brite and rinsed
No harsh chemicals, no respirators — just clean results. And yes, the fluid was still good for another round or two.
My Favorite Features
- 🧤 Skin-safe, no gloves needed (though I still wear them for cleanup)
- ♻️ Reusable solution until it goes black and murky
- 🧰 Perfect for fleamarket tools, car restoration, and more
- 🧼 Just rinse under warm water and scrub — done.
